The same Drake Tax.
From anywhere. 100% secure.
Your preparers open the Drake Tax they already know, on any device, and every return, every backup and every file lives in a secure cloud, not on a server under someone’s desk. 100% secure. No server. Backups every night. Support in English and Spanish. Secured and operated by NeoDefender, a cybersecurity company, and already running the daily work of a real tax firm.
Sound familiar?
The tax office server is the weakest link in tax season
Every January the same worries come back. They are not an IT problem. They are a business risk sitting in a closet.
The server is slow, old, and nobody knows who backs it up.
A preparer needs to work from home or another office and the VPN fails.
The IRS now expects MFA and a written security plan (WISP). Do you have one?
Drake Online would fix some of it, but the price per return is a different business.
DGMTech was built inside a tax firm to end exactly these problems.
Security
100% secure, by design
Tax data is the most sensitive data a small business handles: Social Security numbers, bank accounts, income. We treat it that way. Every control below is included in every plan, not sold as an add-on.
A password alone never opens Drake or your files. Every preparer confirms on their phone, every time. Stolen passwords stop being a way in.
Returns, documents and backups are encrypted while stored and while traveling to the screen. Nothing is readable on the wire or on a lost disk.
The device is a window, not the vault. If a laptop is lost or stolen, access is revoked in minutes and no client data was ever on it.
The Drake database and every client file are copied nightly, kept for 30 days and restored on a schedule to prove they work. A deleted return is a phone call, not a crisis.
NeoDefender monitors sign-ins, unusual locations and suspicious activity and responds to alerts. Patches are applied for you. You do not need an IT person on staff.
IRS Publication 4557 and the FTC Safeguards Rule require these controls and a Written Information Security Plan. We give you the controls and the paperwork to prove them.
What you get
Everything a modern tax office needs, in one monthly plan
Not a generic hosting plan with Drake installed on top. A complete, secure workplace for tax professionals, designed around how a firm actually works between January and October.
Drake Tax, the desktop version, in the cloud
The full Drake Tax Pro you already license, running on a secure cloud desktop. Same screens, same shortcuts, same e-file. Every preparer sees the same client database, from any office or from home.
No server, no VPN, no IT closet
We retire the local server. Windows, Drake, printers, scanners and updates run in the cloud, in data centers in the United States. Your office needs an internet connection and a screen. Nothing else.
Client files, organized and shared
W-2s, 1099s, signed forms and engagement letters live in shared client folders with version history, and each preparer has a personal drive. Everything is searchable, shared, and backed up automatically.
Chat, calls and video for the whole office
Talk to your team and your clients from inside the same workspace. Optional business phone lines, so the office number follows you home.
Security the IRS can audit
Multi-factor authentication, device controls, encryption at rest and in transit, monitoring and nightly backups. We hand you the documentation for your WISP, not a shrug.
Support in English and Spanish
People who know Drake and know tax season. Help desk for your preparers, onboarding and offboarding of seasonal staff in minutes, and a team that answers in the language your office speaks.

Who this is for
Built for tax firms, not for data centers
From one office to many
The setup that runs DGMNow today, a bilingual tax and accounting firm in Orlando, is the same one we deploy for you. Nothing experimental, nothing theoretical.Firms with an aging server
Your Drake still works on that server, but the box is five years old, the backups are a mystery, and every tax season starts with a prayer. Replace it with the cloud before it fails in February.
Multi-office and remote preparers
Two or three locations, preparers who work from home, seasonal staff you hire in December. Everyone opens the same cloud desktop and the same client list, no VPN, no copying files around. Each office keeps its own Drake license, as today.
Firms that need to pass a security review
IRS Publication 4557, the FTC Safeguards Rule and your PTIN renewal all point to the same thing: MFA, encryption, access control, a written plan. We deliver the controls and the paperwork.
Your firm in the cloud in one week
Day 1: Assessment
We review your Drake setup, how many preparers you have, your files and your peak season. You get a firm monthly price in writing before anything moves.
Days 2 and 3: Build
Your secure cloud office is built in an environment that belongs to your firm: desktops, security policies, backups. Drake Tax is installed and activated with your license.
Day 4: Migration
Your Drake data, prior years and client documents are moved and verified. Printers and scanners are connected. Nothing is deleted from the old server until you sign off.
Day 5: Go live and training
Each preparer signs in with MFA, opens Drake, and works. A short session in English or Spanish covers the new way to sign in, print and share files.
Live before tax season

Proven in production
Running a real tax firm since day one
DGMTech was not designed in a lab. It was built to run DGMNow, a tax and accounting firm serving the Latino community in Central Florida, and it has carried its returns, its files and its team ever since.
FAQs
Questions tax firms ask us
Straight answers about moving Drake Tax to the cloud.
Is this Drake Online (Drake Zero or Web1040)?
No. Those are different products from Drake with their own pricing per return. DGMTech runs the desktop Drake Tax you already own, exactly as it is, on a secure cloud desktop. Your preparers do not need to learn anything new.
Do I need to buy a new Drake license?
No. You keep your existing Drake Tax license and renew it with Drake as always. We install and activate it in your cloud environment and we take care of the update season after season, so your team opens the new version ready to work.
Can I use my Drake license in the cloud?
Yes. Your Drake Tax license stays yours and is used inside your own environment by the people you authorize, the same way it works in your office today. If you have more than one location, each one keeps its license as it does now. We support the environment; Drake keeps supporting the tax software, as always.
How secure is it, really?
More secure than a server in your office, by a wide margin. Every sign-in requires MFA. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Nothing is stored on the preparer’s device. Backups run every night and are tested. Sign-ins and activity are monitored by NeoDefender, a cybersecurity company, and patches are applied for you. The environment runs in enterprise data centers in the United States with physical security no small office can match. And you get the documentation to prove all of it to the IRS.
Where does the Drake data live? Can it go in a personal cloud drive?
The Drake database lives on dedicated, encrypted storage inside your own environment, not in a personal sync folder. Shared client folders hold the documents around the return: W-2s, 1099s, signed forms, engagement letters.
How is this different from the hosting companies I see online?
Most of them rent you a Windows desktop on shared servers with Drake on it. DGMTech is a complete office: Drake on a secure cloud desktop, plus shared files, email, chat and calls, plus security operated by NeoDefender, plus support in Spanish. And it runs in an environment that belongs to your firm, not to us.
What happens to my data if I leave?
It is yours and it stays yours. Everything lives in a cloud environment registered to your firm. If you leave, you keep it, we hand over the keys, and you can export Drake data at any time.
Does it work with my printers and scanners?
Yes. Local printers and scanners are redirected into the cloud desktop, so printing a return or scanning a W-2 works the way it does today. Signature pads and dual monitors are supported too.
How fast is it? Tax season is not the moment to be slow.
The desktops run in enterprise data centers in the United States, sized for Drake and scaled up during tax season. Most firms find it faster than their old server, especially when several preparers work at once.
What about the IRS security requirements and the WISP?
The plan includes the technical controls the IRS and the FTC Safeguards Rule expect: MFA, encryption, access control, monitoring, backups and incident procedures. We also give you the documentation to complete your Written Information Security Plan, so you are not starting from a blank page.
Can I add QuickBooks, Office or other programs?
Yes. The Complete Office plan adds QuickBooks and any other Windows application your firm uses, on the same cloud desktop, next to Drake. Office apps are included in every plan that has Microsoft 365.
I have preparers who work from home on their own computers. Does that work?
Yes, and it is the most common setup we see. They get a preparer seat: Drake opens as a published application on their own Windows or Mac, with MFA, and nothing is ever saved on their machine. Their computer is registered with your firm so access can be revoked in one click. They see the same client database as your office staff.
What does it cost when tax season is over?
Plans are monthly and you can reduce seats between May and December, when seasonal preparers leave. Preparer seats are made for exactly that: add them in December, remove them in May. Your data and your setup stay intact for the next season.
